Poppy’s 1st Communion

Sunday May 26th 2013 saw my 9-year-old granddaughter Poppy takes her first Communion at the Roman Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart Sittingbourne. For those who believe in the Christian faith, this is an important moment in a child’s life. Poppy is the daughter of my youngest Susan
In the Catholic faith the girls dress in all in white, which I know realise, signifies the purity of the sacrament. My oldest daughter Donna took communion in the same manner some 35 years ago and at that time the Nuns said she was being accepted as a bride of Christ, something I was not happy with so my son John and daughter Susan never took the sacrament, something I now regret.
Poppy was expected to recite part of the Mass, which she
done extremely well and proved to be a credit to the family. This was a joyous
occasion and the party afterwards lasted well into the night
