Morrison the Saviour of Swale

Last week I wrote an article, which told, of a rumour going round the town about Morrison’s making redundant local people from the night shift rather then foreign workers. I asked the questions could this be true and our local MP responded very soon after the request, his answer was as follows

Dear Martin

Gordon asked me to check the validity of your email allegations in respect of Morrison’s distribution Centre at Kemsley.

The FACTS and GOOD NEWS are that Morrison’s is recruiting extra workers NOT making them redundant. They have just undergone a recruitment drive for their night shift as a result of which they have taken on 30 new staff.

A consequence of taking on extra full time staff is of course that they need less temporary agency workers and your incorrect information probably came from that source.

Morrison’s locally are a jobs success with their Distribution Centre (1,100 jobs) and Faversham Store (250 jobs); and with the building of two new supermarkets this year at Sittingbourne (350 jobs) and Queenborough (250 jobs) their employment creation in Swale is very welcome.

So things look quite rosy and Morrison’s will become the savior of the area? Yet my letter did get a response from someone who has lost his job on the night shift. He tells me he has worked for the company for 2 years and was called to a meeting where he was told he along with others would be put on short time 20 hours because there was not enough work, he obviously complained stating the obvious that how good he a keep a family on 20 hours a week. He was told that once the stores are built they could return to full work this could be up to two years away, he was also told to look at his contract because there was a clause in stating that Morrison’s could put him on part time when there was no work!
Now Morrison’s give the impression that they are looking after the local work force if that is the case why are they giving English lessons to new foreign workers?

It seems big companies like Morrison’s backed up by the political elite can do and say what they want with out impunity and those English workers who refuse to work for a pittance are nothing but lazy dole loving English and where are the Unions, they are quick to fight for professional pension rights but forget about the lowly worker who is being marginalized in England

Can I make a radical suggestion instead of making all the staff work part time why not send all the foreign workers home and let local Englishman keep job  full time and let them look after their own families rather then being forced on the dole and being a burden to the state.

Mind you I could be wrong all the rumors may be just a conspiracy to blacken Morrison’s name? Well that is for the reader to decide

Morrison's and Cameron

I have just heard that our friendly Morrison’s are making workers on there night shift redundant, a shift that is predominantly made up of foreign labour. Yet the ones being made redundant are local people who are English not foreign labour. Yet another incident of where we must be wary about what Morrison’s says and what they actually do.

Now I may be totally wrong and this rumour and the fact that my Judo Club members fathers has been laid off may be a complete fabrication but I would be interested to hear what Morrison’s, Swale Borough Council and our local MP have to say about the claim

David Cameron's call for global gay rights

Here are some of the comments I took from the DM Not that he will listen to the voters

What has this got to do with us?Yes gay people deserve equal rights but this is England, why can DC just concentrate on this country instead of trying to tell the rest of the world how to live.

Whitney A Drunk Drug taking singer or a Martyr to her art?

Whitney Houston was a great singer and entertainer but that was it she was also an Alcoholic and dug addict and a mother who allowed her daughter to become the same. Yet the Mayor New York asked for flags to be flown at half mast yet dead soldiers returning from Afghanistan do get the same treatment. These celebreties are nothing more then performers doing a job nothing more and most of the time do not give a good example to others.

See the 7 year old white kid who asked a Black kid do you come from Africa, was hounded out of  a school for being racist, no wonder school teachers have a bad reputation

Richard dawkins recognises God

When I was on Facebook I had a lot of academics as friends (so called) and I would spend hours debating with them in fact that the reason I came off because I spent too much time on it. Most of these Professor, Teachers and Academics were quite correct in their debates accept when it came to “Christians ” people like ex students of mine like Ray askew, Richard Bailey both atheist would mock peoples belief in God with such quotes “as your little invisible friend” and they were fervent followers of Richard Dawkins. So when I listen to him on Radio 4 and made a massive slip up see below, I was overjoyed. Let hope Richard and Ray were listening to their VISABLE friend make a fool of himself and his beliefs

IN THE NAVY SWEET HEART

Dear Gordon Henderson MO please send this to our EU, Gay, Positive Discrimination, anti British  loving Prime Minister  Cameron

It's not so far fetched, given what's going on in the M.O.D.

We are almost there!!

Britain’s New Navy...

The Royal Navy is proud of its new fleet of Type 45 destroyers. Having initially named the first two ships

HMS Daring and

HMS Dauntless

The Naming Committee has, after intensive pressure from Brussels , renamed them

HMS Cautious and

HMS Prudence.

The next five ships are to be named

HMS Empathy,

HMS Circumspect,

HMS Nervous,

HMS Timorous and

HMS Apologist.

Costing £850 million each, they meet the needs of the 21st century and comply with the very latest employment, equality, health & safety and human rights laws.

The new user-friendly crow's nest comes equipped with wheelchair access.

Live ammunition has been replaced with paintballs to reduce the risk of anyone getting hurt and to cut down on the number of compensation claims.

Stress counsellors and lawyers will be on duty 24hrs a day and each ship will have its on-board industrial tribunal.

The crew will be 50/50 men and women, and balanced in accordance with the latest Home Office directives on race, gender, sexuality and disability.

Sailors will only have to work a maximum of 37hrs per week in line with Brussels Health & Safety rules, even in wartime!

All the vessels will come equipped with a maternity ward and nursery, situated on the same deck as the Gay Disco.

Tobacco will be banned throughout the ship, but cannabis will be allowed in the wardroom and messes.

The Royal Navy is eager to shed its traditional reputation for; "Rum, sodomy and the lash"; so out has gone the occasional rum ration which is to be replaced by sparkling water.

Although sodomy remains, it has now been extended to include all ratings under 18.

The lash will still be available but only on request.

Condoms can be obtained from the Boatswain in a variety of flavours, except Capstan Full Strength.

Saluting officers has been abolished because it is deemed elitist and is to be replaced by the more informal, "Hello Sailor".

All information on notices boards will be printed in 37 different languages and Braille.

Crew members will now no longer be required to ask permission to grow beards or moustaches - this applies equally to women crew members.

The MoD is working on a new "non-specific" flag because the White Ensign is considered to be offensive to minorities. The Union Flag had already been discarded.

The newly re-named HMS Cautious is due to be commissioned soon in a ceremony conducted by Captain Hook from the Finsbury Park Mosque who will break a petrol bomb over the hull.

She will gently slide into the water as the Royal Marines Band plays "In the Navy" by the Village People.

Her first deployment will be to escort boat loads of illegal immigrants across the channel to ports on England 's south coast.

The Prime Minister said, "While these ships reflect the very latest in modern thinking, they are also capable of being up-graded to comply with any new legislation coming out of Brussels ."

His final words were, "Britannia waives the rules."

That Idiot Cameron

That idiot Cameron has been at it again Now he tells us that the reason GB Inc is not doing well is that their is not enough on the Boards of various companies!! First of all it was not enough ethnics then it was not homosexuals and Lesbians, what next not enough dwarfs, one legged transvestites. Let me suggest something really radical Lets select people who are good at their job irrelevant of sexual deviation, colour, who they look or their sex. We do not want second rate people on boards of directors, chief of police or any other job come to that because that is what is happening with this ridiculous Positive Discrimination (mid you I can not see anything positive about it). All these minorities and women should stop making excuses for failure remember one of the best Prime Minister we ever had was a women Margret Thatcher, I never heard her moaning about being a female.

As a Conservative I never voted for this man borne with a silver spoon in his mouth I voted for David Davies a man who was brought up by a single mother someone who understood the ordinary person. Look what we have today in all parties Rich People running political parties and running government we have gone back 200 years when the Landed gentry ran the country. These people thought they had the God given right to run us and tell us what we should think just like this lot, to think it was only 30 years ago a Grocer Daughter was in charge.

Town Hall memories

Dear Editor

In last weeks Sittingbourne News you asked if we had memories of the old Town hall, this building played a very important part in the development of Judo in Sittingbourne and the South East England. My parents Margret and Knobby Clarke formed the Young Judo Club in 1957, which is now one of the oldest if not the oldest club in the South East outside London. (Editor I have attached a history of the Club for your information). The first venue (Dojo) for the YJC was a small hall in Milton Regis opposite the Conservative club; this has since become a house. When the hall was sold we moved to the basement of the Town I believe this was about 1959 and we moved about 10 years to Brenchley house where we stayed till 1978 when my mother purchased the old Methodist church in East Street where we are now based.

The Young Judo Club became the hub of Judo in the area not only did we use the Town Hall but several other venues in the town but the main Dojo was always the Town Hall another reason for being such an important was the fact that my father was the first person to run competitions on a regular basis in the South East and for children as well something considered rather daring in those days. Children in those days were not expected to do Judo and back in the 1950’s Children were only allowed to have two grades 1 red and 2 red tabs.

Things I remember of those competitions were how small the Hall was compared with todays Sports Halls and loose Tea being made in big muslin bags, being poured from large Teapots.

Can people remember the dances being held at the Town Hall sometimes a group sometimes just a record player, no alcohol just soft drinks, nearly always a punch up? Me at 16 having to run like the clappers because I had to be in by 10.30pm or get a wallop.

I have fond memories of the Town Hall mainly because of how much effort my parents put into Judo and the young people of town. It is only when you get older do you realize what they did for you and how much they loved you and how much you loved them.

Well said Bill

I had the following email sent to me by a friend, Although I am not 76 it is exactly how I feel
Bill Cosby "I'm 76 and Tired"

This should be required reading for every man, woman and child in Jamaica,

the UK , United States of America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand and
to all the world...

"I'm 76 and I'm Tired"

I'm 76. Except for brief period in the 50's when I was doing my National

Service, I've worked hard since I was 17. Except for some some serious

health challenges, I put in 50-hour weeks, and didn't call in sick in
nearly

40 years. I made a reasonable salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my

income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, it looks as

though retirement was a bad idea, and I'm tired. Very tired.

I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth" to people who

don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take

the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy

to earn it.

I'm tired of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every
day I

can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and

daughters for their family "honor"; of Muslims rioting over some slight

offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren't

"believers"; of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning

teenage rape victims to death for "adultery"; of Muslims mutilating the

genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur'an and

Shari'a law tells them to.

I'm tired of being told that out of "tolerance for other cultures" we must
let

Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries use our oil money to fund mosques

and madrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in Australia, New Zealand,

UK, America and Canada, while no one from these countries are allowed to

fund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia or any other

Arab country to teach love and tolerance..

I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global

warming, which no one is allowed to debate.

I'm tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help

support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ

rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses

or stick a needle in their arm while they tried to fight it off?

I'm tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of all

parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful

mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting

caught. I'm tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.

I'm really tired of people who don't take responsibility for their lives
and

actions. I'm tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination

or big-whatever for their problems.

I'm also tired and fed up with seeing young men and women in their teens
and

early 20's be-deck them selves in tattoos and face studs, thereby making

themselves un-employable and claiming money from the Government.

Yes, I'm damn tired. But I'm also glad to be 76.. Because, mostly, I'm not

going to have to see the world these people are making. I'm just sorry for

my granddaughter and her children. Thank God I'm on the way out and not

on the way in.

Landlords moan and Scottish independence

I was listening to a programme on TV Sunday Morning about the limit being set by government on benefits. Once again you had all the bleeding hearts and lefties saying people can to live on the equivalent of £750 per week, they dragged up the token single mother with a couple of kids who live in affluent area and can not afford to stay because of the clamp down. She said that her partner had left her until then they were comfortable, well is that our fault her partner is not paying his way? There must have been doubts in their relationship as she never married him, so once again why should we pay for her mistake she should move to an area where she can afford to live.
Then came well its the Landlord fault they are to greedy. Well let me tell you as a Landlord the maximum I charge is £500 pcm and the minimum is £85 pw, and every thing is not roses I had my annual Landlords check on Gas appliances one boiler was condemned and one flats gas pipes were condemned because the run was to long. I managed to change the boiler with the condemned pipes into the other flat this was £500 for a days work plus I had to £140 for two certificates. This left two flats with no heating so in comes an electrician 8 new heaters, new showers, new Fuse board, new wiring the cost I expect will be about a thousand pounds. So how many months will I take to get this back oh and I have had two flats empty for 2 months.
I make good money from the flats but not a fortune and being a good landlord costs are always on going. So let the lefties and whining bishops put their hands in their pockets and supply housing.

You must read the article about Scottish Independence the one thing that will make us all hope they gain their independence is the fact that we will have to leave the EU.I advise all Scotsman to vote for Independence so England can regain its freedom for the EU Dictatorship

A Must Read

I am not sure whether I breaking any copy right laws by copying this to my blog but it is a must read. Especially with reference to the family in wales

Sky TV, Special Brew, Superkings...those benefit cuts in full
By Richard Littlejohn

Last updated at 7:53 AM on 3rd February 2012

Call Me Dave repeatedly challenged Mister Ed in the Commons this week to agree that families on welfare should not be better off than those who go out to work. Answer came there none.

Labour is still refusing to support Government plans to cap benefits at £26,000 a year — equivalent to the average annual household income.

Opposition MPs again voted en masse against the reforms, which have been thrown out of the House of Lords by a holier-than-thou alliance of Labour peers and bolshie bishops.

Clash: David Cameron has been challenging Ed Miliband over his party's refusal to support the Government's proposed £26,000 cap on benefits

It now looks as if ministers will wheel out a rarely used constitutional battering ram to force the Bill through Parliament in time for it to become law by April next year.

Cameron has already watered down the plans, by offering concessions such as a nine-month grace period for those who have recently lost their jobs through no fault of their own, and setting up a £130 million transitional fund to help families who have to move house because they can no longer afford the rent.

But he insists, quite rightly, that the headline £26,000 figure (£500 a week tax-free) is non-negotiable. A working family would have to earn £35,000 before tax to take home that amount.

Millions of people on low and fixed incomes have to live on far less, which is why these proposals enjoy widespread public support.

Opponents of the cap have whipped themselves up into a self-righteous lather of lunacy, screeching hysterically about ‘social cleansing’ and ‘plunging families into poverty’.

While just about stopping short of accusing Cameron of wanting to pitchfork bay-bees, Labour stubbornly refuses to go along with the reforms.

In the Commons, the Prime Minister justifiably taunted Miliband: ‘People up and down the country will be completely amazed that the party that is supposed to stand up for working people thinks that it is OK to get more on benefits than a family gets from working.’

Labour maintains that the plans are unfair and accuses the Government of taking too much notice of newspaper stories about asylum seekers being billeted in six and seven-bedroom mansions and receiving over £100,000 a year in benefits. It’s only in London, where the cost of living is sky-high, that these ‘abuses’ are to be found, they claim.

In an attempt to clamber back on to the moral high-ground, some Labour politicians have even suggested that the cap could be lower outside London.

So, in the interests of ‘fairness’, let’s look further afield. The BBC has been doing sterling work in highlighting the ‘victims’ of the ‘savage’ cuts.

In London, it’s true, most of these ‘victims’ seem to be single mothers from overseas, many of them suffering from a range of exciting ‘disabilities’, and living in taxpayer-subsidised accommodation they couldn’t possibly afford if they went out to work.

But surely there are more deserving cases to be found in the provinces. Take this family from North Wales, whose plight is featured on the BBC website.

    Cue violins.

Unemployed father-of-seven Raymond (not his real name) and his family rent a former council house on a social housing estate in North Wales. They do not own a car or take a regular annual holiday.

‘Raymond, a former educational software writer, has been jobless since 2001. His wife Katherine suffers from bipolar disorder with an anxiety disorder and is unable to work.

‘Ray, 45, says: “The market for my skills dried up ten years ago and there’s a total lack of work in my area of expertise.”

    Littlejohn Gary cartoon

‘The couple share their home with six of their children — their five-year-old son, Raymond’s twin girls from his first marriage, and three of his wife’s four children from an earlier relationship.

‘The family receive a total of £30,284.80 a year in benefits — well over the £26,000 cap proposed by the Government.

‘But Raymond says: “If these proposals go through, we will take a massive hit to our finances. And it’s not as if we could move into a smaller or cheaper premises. I see eight people here having to choose between eating or heating.” ’

So let’s have a look at the old scoreboard. Ray’s family receives

£30,284.80 a year — that’s £4,284.80 above the proposed cap. So much for the argument that living costs, and therefore welfare bills, are lower outside London. Although he’s still only 45, he hasn’t worked for 11 years, claiming there’s no call for his skills.

Not in North Wales, maybe. But according to the recruitment website careerjet.co.uk there are currently 1,436 vacancies in the ‘educational software’ field across Britain. They’re not all in London and the South-East. For instance, there are jobs going in Derby and Stoke, each paying a starting salary of £50,000 a year.

Plenty of people move house or commute great distances to find work. If he didn’t fancy either of those options, Ray could always stay in Derby or Stoke during the week and go home at the weekend.

I’m sure his wife could manage without him. She doesn’t seem to leave the house much, owing to her condition. I hadn’t realised that ‘anxiety’ was a disability. Despite being ‘bi-polar’ she still thought it was a good idea to have another baby five years ago, even though Ray hadn’t worked since 2001.

Incidentally, how much does the father of her three children by a previous relationship contribute to their upkeep?

    Next question.

Maybe the reason Raymond doesn’t bother looking for another job is that it wouldn’t be worth his while.

To take home £30,284 a year, he would have to earn just over £41,000 before tax. That’s only slightly below the point at which the 40p rate of income tax kicks in — and the Government thinks you’re so ‘rich’ you don’t need child benefit.

It’s a fair bet he’s already better off than his neighbours. Wages in North Wales are the lowest in Britain, averaging just £20,213 in Wrexham. So he would have to earn twice the local average salary to take home what he is paid, tax-free, in benefits.

Helpfully, the BBC website provides us with a handy breakdown of the family’s weekly expenditure.

This includes £15 a week for Sky TV. ‘We get the Sky Movies package because we’re stuck in the house all week — otherwise we wouldn’t have any entertainment,’ Ray explains.

Then there’s £32 a week on mobile phones. ‘My wife and I have mobile phones and so do all the teenage children. You try telling teenagers they’re going to have to do without their mobiles and there’ll be hell to pay.’

Since Ray and his wife are, by their own admission, stuck in the house all week, you might wonder why they need mobile phones. Perhaps she calls up to the bedroom to wake him when Pirates Of The Caribbean comes on Sky Movies of an afternoon.

The biggest chunk of their budget goes on the weekly shop, which includes 24 cans of lager, 200 cigarettes and a large pouch of tobacco.

‘On the cigarettes, my wife tried to give up, but she missed one appointment on the course and they threw her off it.’

    Ain’t life a bitch?

Faced with a cut of £82.40 a week under the new cap, Ray claims they now have a stark choice between ‘eating or heating’.

They could always go without Sky Movies, six mobile phones and their weekly carton of Superkings. That would save them over £100 a week, — and they’d still have enough left over for two dozen cans of Special Brew and all the roll-ups they can smoke, without having to economise on food.

These are the kind of people Labour is determined to protect from economic reality at the expense of their neighbours who go out to work every day and have to live on half as much money.

Incredibly, this is the BBC’s idea of a sob story, designed to tug at our heart-strings over the cruel hardship caused by the ‘savage’ cuts.

You won’t be surprised to learn that none of the 1,264 people who had left comments on the website last night expressed much sympathy.

And coming up after the news, a Panorama special on the impact of the ‘savage’ welfare cuts on the Old Woman Who Lived In A Shoe.

The Old Woman, a self-employed Big Issue seller from Afghanistan, has so many children . . . she gets £50,000 a year in child benefit, £100,000 in housing benefit, £20,000 in disability benefit, Sky Multi-room, a regular weekly delivery of cigarettes and lager from Ocado.
